Medartis seeks a Field Reimbursement Manager to act as a subject matter expert on coverage and billing for its orthopaedic devices, partnering with sales and providers to ensure appropriate reimbursement.
This position functions as the primary expert on coverage, coding, billing, and payment workflows for the company's medical device portfolio. The incumbent collaborates with Sales, Market Access, providers, and revenue cycle teams to facilitate proper reimbursement, eliminate access barriers, and drive product utilization.
Responsibilities
- Train healthcare providers and office personnel on coverage rules, coding standards, and payment expectations
- Manage prior authorizations, appeals, and denial resolution workflows
- Detect reimbursement obstacles and create strategic plans to address them
- Deliver training sessions, both on-site and virtually, for physicians and billing teams
- Collaborate closely with Sales Representatives and Regional Managers
- Share insights on payer trends and market feedback with internal stakeholders
- Stay updated on CMS and commercial payer policy changes
- Ensure all activities adhere to healthcare compliance regulations
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree
- Possess 5–7+ years of experience in reimbursement, revenue cycle, coding, or payer relations
- Demonstrate knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer processes
- Understand CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM coding systems
- Exhibit strong presentation and communication abilities
- Be willing to travel up to 25% of the time
- Hold CPC, CCS, or a similar certification
- Have experience supporting procedural or implantable medical devices
- Have worked directly with providers or hospital systems
Nice to have
- Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Life Sciences, or a related field
- Direct experience with Cat III CPT codes and transitional passthrough payment
