Medartis seeks a Sales Associate in the NY tri-state area to support Territory Consultants, educate medical staff on implant usage, and drive business growth through clinical support and sales coordination.

This position serves as a key partner to the local Territory Consultant, focusing on the education and sales of Medartis implants and instruments to surgeons and their teams. The role is designed to help the incumbent rapidly understand the medical device sector while contributing directly to the expansion of the assigned territory's business.

Responsibilities

  • Attend surgical procedures to ensure all necessary Medartis products are available and provide hands-on instruction to surgeons regarding functionality and proper use.
  • Educate healthcare professionals, including doctors and nursing staff, on product maintenance, portfolio updates, and educational resources.
  • Complete an intensive training program involving five to seven days away from the home territory, conducted in classroom settings or through direct observation of clinical workflows.
  • Customize promotional strategies based on customer needs, advise on product selection, and differentiate Medartis offerings from competitors.
  • Maintain all necessary hospital certifications and compliance standards required for operating in surgical centers and outpatient facilities.
  • Support the execution of sales plans and marketing strategies to strengthen Medartis' competitive market position.
  • Collaborate with the Account Sales Manager to manage inventory levels and ensure adequate stock sets for customer requirements.
  • Handle logistical tasks such as ordering, transporting, and assembling surgical instrument sets within sterile processing departments.
  • Assist in processing customer purchase orders to ensure accurate invoicing and order fulfillment.
  • Attend sales and professional association meetings, which may occur outside standard business hours.
  • Conduct field visits within the assigned territory, including on-call duties and operating room consultations.

Requirements

  • Reside in or near Long Island, Brooklyn, or Queens, NY.
  • Hold a Bachelor’s or Associate degree, preferably in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of sales principles, including marketing tactics, product demonstration, and sales control systems.
  • Possess a foundational understanding of the medical device industry, including regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Adhere strictly to ethical standards, confidentiality protocols, and all applicable federal, state, and local laws and company policies.
  • Be available for extensive travel within the territory, including weekends and occasional overnight stays.
