Finance Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CPA)

Terra Quantum seeks a qualified Finance Accountant in Geneva to manage US GAAP compliance, month-end close, and financial reporting within an international quantum technology team.

This position is responsible for overseeing the general ledger and handling key financial transactions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, revenue recognition, and foreign exchange. The accountant plays a critical role in supporting external audits, ensuring strict adherence to US GAAP standards, and contributing to an international group of experts in quantum technology and business innovation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the general ledger, including posting and reviewing invoices for AP/AR, journal entries for payroll, revenue, and FX transactions.
• Handle accruals, prepayments, provisions, fixed assets, and depreciation calculations.
• Execute month-end closing procedures, perform balance sheet reconciliations, and compile management reporting packages including P&L and balance sheets.
• Conduct variance analysis to investigate account movements and financial discrepancies.
• Assist in cash flow monitoring, intercompany reconciliations, and maintaining audit-ready documentation.
• Support external audits, including PCAOB requirements, and ensure ongoing compliance with US GAAP.
• Drive process improvements and maintain data integrity within financial systems, preferably Odoo.

Requirements

• Holding ACA, ACCA, or CPA qualification.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP principles.
• Experience in multi-entity accounting, month-end close, management accounts, and variance analysis.
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems, particularly Odoo or similar SaaS environments.
• Experience with multi-currency and FX transactions.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage deadlines independently.

• Experience with PCAOB and SEC reporting.
