Accountant (contract)

Bunge seeks a Mid-level Accountant on a contract basis in Switzerland to manage financial reporting, month-end close, and reconciliation processes for its Financial Services division.

The company is looking for a professional to ensure continuity in its Financial Services controlling activities. The position involves managing core financial reporting, month-end close procedures, and reconciliation workflows. The role operates within a strong control environment, collaborating with Finance leadership, while execution of key business-as-usual tasks undergoes appropriate review and approval by management.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute monthly Financial Markets close activities to guarantee accurate and timely reporting.
• Conduct monthly balance sheet reviews and variance analysis to identify and highlight significant financial movements.
• Perform and manage essential reconciliations, including FX P&L, mark-to-market (MTM), intercompany balances, bank accounts, margin accounts, and unmatched trades.
• Track discrepancies and liaise with relevant stakeholders to achieve prompt resolution.
• Maintain the completeness and accuracy of financial data across all relevant systems.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and accompanying documentation for managerial review and approval.
• Support SOX control documentation and evidence preparation to ensure readiness for audits.
• Provide inputs for payment processes and control checks, while ensuring approvals remain with authorized signatories.
• Collaborate with Bunge Business Services and regional teams, such as those in Singapore and Rotterdam, to meet delivery deadlines.
• Facilitate communication during month-end close and reporting cycles.

Requirements

• Hold a degree in Accounting or possess a professional accounting qualification.
• Demonstrate more than 5 years of experience in working and audit roles.
• Have at least 5 years of knowledge regarding financial derivatives and their accounting treatments.
• Be proficient in SAP and familiar with US GAAP standards.
• Show relevant experience in financial reporting, controlling, or audit functions.
• Possess a strong understanding of month-end close and reconciliation processes.

Nice to have

• Experience within the Agribusiness industry is preferred.
