Legal Entity Accountant (US)

Vontobel seeks a mid-level Legal Entity Accountant (US) in Zurich to manage accounting and monthly closing for its US entity within a hybrid, collaborative team.

This position supports the accounting operations for Vontobel Asset Management US. The role is based in the Financial Accounting team in Zurich, focusing on maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly closing tasks for the US legal entity, such as journal entries, reconciliations, and fixed asset accounting.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations to verify the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
• Maintain internal controls and ensure proper documentation within relevant systems.
• Work closely with teams in Accounting, Controlling, Treasury, Tax, and Compliance.
• Assist with external audits by preparing documentation and responding to requests.
• Contribute to finance transformation initiatives, including SAP S/4HANA implementation and optimization.

Requirements

• Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance, or a commercial apprenticeship with additional accounting qualifications (e.g., Swiss Federal Diploma in Finance and Accounting, Certified Fiduciary).
• 4-7 years of accounting experience, preferably in an international, regulated US environment.
• Strong proficiency in SAP FI/CO.
• Solid understanding of IFRS and US GAAP accounting principles.
• Fluency in both German and English.

Nice to have

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA and P2P systems like Basware or Concur.
• Interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and willingness to adopt AI-enabled tools and workflows.
