ABB Power Grids seeks a Financial Planning Lead in Zürich to oversee budgeting, forecasting, and team development while driving digital transformation and AI adoption in finance.
This position is responsible for steering the financial planning and forecasting strategy, ensuring continuous improvement of these core processes. The incumbent works closely with the CFO and senior leadership to guide the planning team through budget and forecast cycles, acting as a strategic partner to the business.
Responsibilities
- Direct the complete budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning workflows.
- Collaborate with finance leadership to provide strategic insights, scenario modeling, and executive reports.
- Foster strong partnerships with business units and functional finance teams.
- Serve as the primary contact for Headquarters in Tokyo.
- Manage, mentor, and develop the planning team members.
- Provide robust financial analysis and clear recommendations to support strategic initiatives.
- Apply hands-on experience with AI tools within financial planning contexts.
- Oversee FP&A applications in coordination with IT departments.
- Identify and implement automation and process improvement opportunities.
- Promote the use and optimization of planning, forecasting, analytics, and AI-enabled tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in FP&A.
- Proven success in managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong technical skills in planning systems, data visualization tools, and modern finance technology platforms.
- Practical experience with AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics.
- Demonstrated ability to drive process automation, digital transformation, and technology-enabled improvements in finance.
