Flight Physics Engineer (Loads & Dynamics)

Anavia seeks a Senior Flight Physics Engineer in Bilten to conduct structural and aerodynamic load analysis and develop dynamic models for aerospace systems.

This position is dedicated to the structural and aerodynamic load analysis of aerospace systems. The engineer will be responsible for creating, validating, and maintaining dynamic and aeroelastic models to support system stability and design.

Responsibilities

• Conduct structural and aerodynamic load analysis.
• Create, validate, and maintain dynamic and aeroelastic models using tools like CAMRAD II, FLIGHTLAB, Simulink, and NASTRAN.
• Assist in structural test campaigns, including static and dynamic testing, modal analysis, and Ground Vibration Testing (GVT).
• Analyze vibration phenomena and help design dampers and passive or active mitigation solutions.
• Evaluate system stability across low- and high-frequency domains.
• Ensure adherence to aerospace standards such as DO-160, MIL-STD-810, and MIL-A-8866.
• Support flight and ground test activities, including defining instrumentation and analyzing data.
• Collaborate with control systems engineers to integrate loads and dynamics into flight control strategies.
• Prepare technical documentation, presentations, and reports for internal use and qualification purposes.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Aerospace Engineering or a related field, with a focus on flight dynamics, structural dynamics, or aeroelasticity.
• Practical experience with structural testing (static and dynamic), GVT, and vibration analysis.
• Proficiency in engineering software including MATLAB, Simulink, FLIGHTLAB, CAMRAD II, and NASTRAN.
• Deep understanding of helicopter aeromechanics, aeroelastic phenomena, and structural loads methodology.
• Familiarity with aerospace certification standards like DO-160 and relevant MIL-STD documents.
• Experience in analyzing damping strategies and system stability for rotorcrafts.
• Fluent English skills (written and spoken).
• Must be a Swiss or EU citizen.
