Global Finance Process and ICS Specialist

Avolta seeks a Global Finance Process and ICS Specialist to enhance its Internal Control over Financial Reporting framework. This mid-level role focuses on governance, risk management, and control improvements within the global finance function.

This position supports the Global Finance ICS & ERM Head in strengthening the Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR) framework. The specialist drives governance, risk management, and control practices to ensure robust financial oversight. The role is currently based in Basel until the first quarter of 2027, after which the employee is expected to relocate to the Zurich Airport office.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and refine internal controls for global finance operations
• Evaluate existing processes to spot risks and gaps, then lead improvement efforts
• Contribute to risk assessments and help build mitigation strategies and control structures
• Ensure adherence to internal policies, regulatory rules, and financial reporting standards
• Keep control documentation, process narratives, flowcharts, and audit evidence up to date
• Generate reports and provide insights on control effectiveness and key risk areas
• Work with cross-functional teams to boost governance and risk management practices
• Foster awareness and accountability for internal controls via training and stakeholder engagement

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• At least four years of experience in ICFR, internal controls, audit, risk management, or finance governance
• Strong understanding of financial reporting risks, control frameworks, compliance requirements, and governance practices
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management abilities
• Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint
• Fluent English proficiency

Nice to have

• Background in a Big 4 or consulting firm, focusing on financial audit, internal controls (ICS/ICFR), and publicly listed companies
• Experience with GRC tools, particularly Workiva
• Knowledge of Power BI and/or Visio
• Professional certification such as CPA or CIA
• German language skills
