ABB seeks a Senior Group Social Media Manager in Zürich to lead brand presence across major platforms, manage agency relationships, and drive community engagement within a decentralized global organization.
This position is embedded within the corporate communications team of a large, highly decentralized enterprise. Reporting directly to the Senior Digital Communications Manager, the incumbent serves as the primary driver for the company’s brand visibility on Group-level social media channels, ensuring consistent and impactful digital storytelling.
Responsibilities
- Develop and schedule posts for LinkedIn, Instagram, and X to maintain active brand presence.
- Adapt and distribute organizational content to maximize reach on Group social platforms.
- Monitor audience interactions, messages, and mentions to foster engagement and safeguard corporate reputation.
- Organize and host live social media sessions tied to significant company milestones.
- Source, manage, and collaborate with influencers for joint content creation.
- Provide clear briefs to external agencies and ensure they meet quality and timeline expectations.
- Partner with internal stakeholders and lead the Social Media Community of Practice.
- Create guidelines, toolkits, and training materials to educate colleagues on proper social media usage.
- Analyze performance metrics across all Group channels and present insights to leadership.
Requirements
- 8 to 10 years of communications experience, including a minimum of 5 years focused on social media management.
- Demonstrated history of handling social media strategies and execution from start to finish.
- University degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related discipline.
- Strong proficiency in social media management and project coordination software.
- Prior experience briefing agencies and managing influencer partnerships.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams, regions, and business units.
- Skill in gaining stakeholder alignment in a decentralized structure without direct authority.
- Background in organizing live social media events.
- Excellent writing abilities and a strong sense of narrative and storytelling.
- Deep knowledge of major social platforms and their respective best practices.
- Keen awareness of reputational risks and the judgment to navigate them appropriately.
- Legal eligibility to work in Switzerland.
Nice to have
- Previous experience within a large, complex, and decentralized corporate environment.
- Familiarity with Salesforce Marketing Cloud Intelligence.
