This executive role is responsible for steering the Securities Services division within Switzerland. The position aims to drive profitable expansion while maintaining strict risk controls and aligning with global strategies. The leader will oversee local administration, manage the P&L, and serve as the primary representative for the business line across the country.
Responsibilities
- Direct the local management committee to coordinate all operational activities.
- Provide governance over risk management, operations, human resources, and administration.
- Manage local staff and foster a collaborative, agile, and efficient team culture.
- Oversee the local P&L and manage controllable expenses to meet efficiency targets.
- Develop and execute a local strategic plan aligned with the global Securities Services strategy.
- Identify and prioritize market opportunities, including potential acquisitions.
- Influence global strategy and develop local plans considering specific market dynamics.
- Monitor regulatory changes and their impact on product development and client sectors.
- Maximize P&L for domestic clients in coordination with segment heads.
- Maximize the country's contribution to global P&L for non-domestic clients while minimizing local costs.
- Drive commercial and client service activities, acting as the senior coverage officer.
- Develop integrated bank propositions with other CIB and Group business lines.
- Ensure high client satisfaction and top-quality service delivery.
- Serve as the senior escalation point for significant service issues.
- Share best practices and identify synergies across teams.
- Coordinate with regional and business line heads to ensure operating model consistency.
- Ensure adherence to governance structures and meet all local regulatory requirements.
- Maintain full compliance with BNP Paribas policies on compliance, financial security, conduct, and risks.
- Monitor and mitigate risks, ensuring compliance with local legal, regulatory, and tax requirements.
- Represent Securities Services in local lobbying efforts and with authorities.
- Act as the primary interface with regulators for Securities Services in the country.
- Ensure staff engagement through active leadership, including performance and talent management.
- Manage resource allocation efficiently and meet budget commitments.
- Implement business line efficiency improvement plans and operating models locally.
- Promote a corporate culture of teamwork and shared ambition for Securities Services.
- Foster the sharing of best practices and market knowledge, especially with corporate teams.
Requirements
- Deep industry and product knowledge in securities services.
- Proven track record in client relationship building, retention, and revenue expansion.
- Experience in people and stakeholder management.
- Ability to build strong internal networks and establish leadership credibility.
- Capacity to handle multiple assignments and deliver high-quality work under strict deadlines.
- Proven ability to manage and resolve stressful situations.
- Excellent client-facing and presentation skills, both written and oral, with attention to detail.
- Strong ethical and professional conduct.
- Fluency in English and German.
- Degree-level qualification.
- At least 20 years of industry experience in securities services across various business roles.
- Significant experience working with different client types in Switzerland or similar jurisdictions.
- Demonstrated record of partnering with senior internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in managing teams and developing people.
