Head of General Archives

The International Committee of the Red Cross seeks a Head of General Archives in Geneva to manage records, ensure information security, and support humanitarian operations through effective archival practices.

This position serves as a key advisor on information management and security for both delegations and headquarters. By maintaining robust archival systems, the role supports operational continuity, accountability, and rapid response capabilities during humanitarian emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Promote consistent information-sharing across the organization to enhance collaboration.
• Develop and disseminate internal knowledge to support policy development and decision-making processes.
• Acquire, organize, and preserve records while providing access to archives, audiovisual materials, and library resources.
• Manage archives concerning detainees, missing persons, and other beneficiaries of ICRC protection activities.
• Issue official certificates to support the organization's protection mandate.
