Industry Process Expert

Blockstream seeks a Senior Industry Process Expert in Zürich to lead end-to-end delivery processes for financial services solutions, bridging strategic vision with tactical execution. The role requires deep experience in banking, fintech, and technical delivery, with a focus on custody, payments, and blockchain integration.

This role translates the company’s industry strategy and architectural vision into operational excellence for financial services clients. It acts as the key link between high-level goals and day-to-day delivery, owning the processes and frameworks that guide client implementations and reporting to the Director, Industry Lead, Financial Services.

Responsibilities

• Own and improve end-to-end delivery processes for financial services solutions, covering custody, payments, tokenization, and digital asset integration.
• Create and maintain standardized frameworks, reference architectures, and implementation playbooks for banking and financial clients.
• Lead initiatives to improve delivery speed, quality, and client satisfaction across all financial engagements.
• Work with the Director, Industry Lead, Financial Services to turn market insights and architectural plans into actionable delivery strategies and standards.
• Support client projects by overseeing delivery, ensuring compliance with best practices, regulatory standards, and architectural guidelines.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to ensure solution designs are feasible, scalable, and aligned with delivery capabilities.
• Advance knowledge management by documenting lessons learned and building institutional expertise within the financial services team.
• Coordinate resource planning and allocation for client projects, aligning with leadership to optimize team capacity and delivery efficiency.
• Provide direct technical support during complex implementations, especially involving core banking platforms like Avaloq and blockchain adoption.
• Track delivery performance using KPIs and metrics, reporting insights on project health, risks, and opportunities to leadership.
• Organize internal training and enablement programs to keep delivery teams updated on industry trends and technical skills.
• Serve as a communication bridge between client-facing teams and internal stakeholders, ensuring clear alignment on delivery goals.

Requirements

• 7+ years in banking, financial services, or fintech, including at least 3 years in delivery management, process ownership, or solutions architecture.
• Demonstrated success in managing complex technical delivery programs in regulated financial environments.
• Solid understanding of banking operations and systems, including custody, treasury, payment systems, clearing infrastructure, or core banking platforms (Avaloq knowledge preferred).
• Hands-on experience in solution architecture, system integrations, or enterprise software delivery.
• Familiarity with modern tech stacks, including cloud platforms (AWS preferred), API architectures, and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks in banking, especially Swiss and European standards.
• Strong project management and process optimization skills, with experience in Agile, Lean, or similar methodologies.
• Proven leadership and stakeholder management abilities, working effectively with technical teams, clients, and executives.
• Self-motivated, able to collaborate across teams and geographies, delivering high-quality, high-touch client engagement throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on detail and quality.
• Must be fluent in Swiss German, German, and English.

Nice to have

• Experience with Bitcoin and blockchain technologies in enterprise settings.
• Background in digital asset custody, tokenization, or cryptocurrency infrastructure.
• Familiarity with the Avaloq core banking platform or similar enterprise banking systems.
• Technical skills in programming or scripting (e.g., Python, JavaScript).
• History of working with institutional clients such as banks, asset managers, or family offices.
• Experience in business process modeling, requirements analysis, or systems integration.
• Relevant certifications such as PMP or Certified Solutions Architect.
