Axpo in Baden, CH seeks an Intern for Market Risk to support BI and Market Intelligence. The role involves building risk reports, analyzing market data, and developing a new tool or workflow.
This internship sits within the Market Risk Department’s BI and Market Intelligence team. The position focuses on creating PnL and risk reporting solutions while allowing the intern to lead a dedicated project to build a new tool, report, or workflow that supports analysts and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Create and upkeep PnL and Market Risk reports alongside end-user applications.
- Produce management reporting that informs strategic choices.
- Improve market data analysis and risk analytics for better visibility into PnL explanations, risk profiles, and market data.
- Boost operational efficiency through improved processes.
- Develop a new tool, report, or workflow to assist Market Risk analysts and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a university program for quantitative finance, economics, data science, or a related field with strong quantitative or mathematical foundations.
- Understanding of applied statistical and financial methods and modeling techniques.
- Strong grasp of financial instruments including Futures, Swaps, Forwards, and Options, covering valuation and risk management.
- Hands-on experience with Power BI, Power Apps, SQL, and Python.
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and self-direct tasks.
- Methodical and structured approach to project work.
- Proficient English language skills.
Nice to have
- Prior experience in the energy or commodity sector.
- Familiarity with Databricks or Dataiku platforms.
