Intern, RDI Academy - Clinical Research

Straumann seeks an Intern for its RDI Academy in Basel to support the Global Clinical Research team with the coordination and management of clinical studies for dental implants and digital solutions.

This internship provides practical exposure to professional clinical study management within the medical device and dental sectors. The candidate will join the Global Clinical Research team and collaborate directly with the Investigator-Initiated Studies Program Lead. The primary objective is to assist the Clinical Research department in organizing and overseeing studies focused on dental implants and digital dentistry innovations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with clinical study management tasks, such as entering data, coordinating the shipment of materials, and communicating with clinical sites and practitioners.
• Keep precise records within the internal Clinical Trial Management System.
• Guarantee that data remains consistent and complete across all study trackers, files, and internal databases.
• Help prepare reports, presentations, and progress updates for internal stakeholders.
• Take part in assessing the feasibility of clinical initiatives alongside various stakeholders.

Requirements

• Hold a graduate or postgraduate degree in Life Sciences or an equivalent qualification.
• Demonstrate knowledge of clinical research principles or research methodology.
• Show a genuine interest in the medical device or dentistry fields.
• Exhibit strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Be proficient in both written and verbal English communication.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in the health industry or clinical research.
• Familiarity with document or trial management systems and databases.
• Understanding of regulatory standards such as GCP, ISO 14155, or EU MDR.
