Roche seeks an intern for its Preclinical Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls team in Basel to support the optimization of screening assays and formulation research within the pRED organization.
This internship is situated within the Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development (pRED) group, specifically under Preclinical Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (pCMC). The primary purpose of this role is to assist the team in advancing drug candidates from early-stage research into the development phase by optimizing pre-formulation pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Operate liquid handling systems to execute and refine screening assays, thereby speeding up the pre-formulation workflow.
- Conduct manual benchtop assays to compare, validate, and troubleshoot outcomes against automated methods.
- Analyze complex data sets to suggest process enhancements and assess the viability of formulations.
Requirements
- Possess a Master’s degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or Automation.
- Ensure the degree was awarded no more than 12 months before the internship commencement.
- Demonstrate proven experience in operating liquid handling equipment.
- Exhibit strong written and verbal communication abilities in English.
- Work as a meticulous and independent experimentalist with a strong interest in troubleshooting.
Nice to have
- Prior experience using specific liquid handler brands such as Tecan, Fluent, or Freedom EVO.
