Investment Analyst, Climate Finance

responsAbility board seeks a Junior Investment Analyst for its Cape Town office to support climate finance direct lending in emerging markets. The role involves research, due diligence, and financial modeling.

This position is designed for a motivated investment professional to gain comprehensive exposure to the full investment lifecycle within climate finance transactions. The analyst will play a key part in expanding direct lending activities across emerging markets, working closely with international teams to identify and evaluate opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Carry out independent market research to identify technologies and investment prospects.
• Execute due diligence tasks for potential investments alongside senior colleagues.
• Analyze and stress-test financial models to assess risk and viability.
• Prepare screening reports and investment memoranda to aid decision-making.
• Assist in monitoring the performance of portfolio companies and their respective markets.
• Provide operational support to credit risk and transaction management teams.
• Collaborate with colleagues based in Cape Town, Lima, Mumbai, Tbilisi, and Zurich.

Requirements

• A graduate degree in economics, business administration, finance, or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution.
• One to three years of professional experience in finance, investments, or consulting.
• Demonstrated proficiency in financial modeling and accounting principles.
• Fluent oral and written command of the English language.
