Investment Specialist - Equities (Aerospace & Defence)

Union Bancaire Privée seeks a Senior Investment Specialist in Geneva to conduct fundamental equity research for Aerospace & Defence sectors and manage thematic certificates for Wealth Management teams.

This position supports the Wealth Management division by providing deep financial analysis of publicly traded companies within the Industrials and Aerospace & Defence sectors. The specialist is also responsible for managing two dedicated thematic equity certificates, ensuring that investment strategies align with client needs and market opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed fundamental research on companies and sectors in the US and Europe.
• Cover approximately 40 to 50 companies, assigning Buy, Hold, or Sell ratings and regularly updating investment theses and valuation models.
• Develop and maintain financial models to forecast key metrics, assess capital structures, and evaluate balance sheet strength.
• Create equity factsheets, quarterly updates, and presentations that summarize sector views, valuation conclusions, and specific investment recommendations.
• Collaborate with senior portfolio managers to shape investment strategies and pinpoint high-conviction opportunities.
• Communicate investment insights clearly to internal stakeholders, such as private bankers and investment advisors, via reports, slides, or verbal briefings.
• Monitor portfolio performance, identifying potential risks or catalysts that may impact outcomes.
• Manage thematic equity certificates, including producing performance reports and maintaining related presentations.
• Support administrative duties, contribute to cross-sector publications, and participate in investment meetings.
• Provide timely research input to DPM portfolio managers and attend Equity or Global Investment Committee meetings as needed.
• Address inquiries from private bankers and investment advisors promptly.

Requirements

• A relevant Master’s degree from a top-tier university with an excellent academic record.
• Possession of the CFA certification.
• Between 5 and 10 years of experience covering the Industrials and Aerospace & Defence sectors.
• Strong capabilities in financial analysis and modelling.
• Fluency in English.
