IT Operations & Technology Intern (100%)

McDonald’s is seeking an IT Operations & Technology Intern for a 6-month hybrid role in Crissier, supporting restaurant operations across Switzerland through technical support and project assistance.

This six-month internship sits within the Technology Department in Crissier, providing essential support to McDonald’s restaurants throughout Switzerland. The position involves close collaboration with two key groups: the RUN team, which handles daily operations and support, and the BUILD team, which manages projects and technology deployments.

Responsibilities

• Assist the RUN team with routine administrative duties and daily operational tasks
• Utilize established tools and scripts to aid business and restaurant functions
• Manage data and contribute to operational reporting efforts
• Help the BUILD team coordinate and prepare for technology rollouts
• Maintain and set up the IT laboratory environment
• Prepare hardware and systems for software pilots, promotions, and testing
• Conduct functional testing on new software releases and tech solutions
• Record test outcomes and assist in tracking reported issues
• Participate in user acceptance testing and pilot program activities
• Write and update support documentation for internal and external users
• Refine operational workflows and support procedures
• Build and maintain knowledge base articles and user guides

Requirements

• A recently completed or ongoing degree in Information Technology (such as a BSc, MSc, CFC Informatique, or Brevet Fédéral d’Informaticien)
• Fluency in French and/or English

Nice to have

• Practical experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Intune, Windows systems, and general IT support
• Basic scripting skills, particularly in PowerShell
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals (DHCP, DNS, VLAN, IP addressing) and troubleshooting methods
• Prior internship experience, student projects, or personal tech initiatives
• A strong interest in restaurant technology, retail sectors, or operational environments
