responsAbility board seeks a Junior Transaction Officer in Cape Town to support impact investment transactions, requiring finance or law background and proficiency in English and Spanish.
This position sits within the Transactions team and provides an opportunity to contribute to impact investments. The role is based in Cape Town and involves supporting the full lifecycle of investment deals, from documentation to execution.
Responsibilities
- Prepare contractual paperwork such as loan agreements, waivers, and promissory notes, working alongside senior staff and Legal Counsel.
- Assist with ongoing investment administration tasks, including managing cash flow statements, tracking legal documents, and supporting deal restructuring efforts.
- Communicate with the Custody Bank to facilitate the execution of fund disbursements.
- Carry out foreign exchange trades for both deliverable and non-deliverable currencies.
- Collaborate with Investment Officers, Transaction Officers, and investees to collect and monitor constitutional, legal, financial, and regulatory documents.
Requirements
- Hold a degree in Finance, Law, Business Administration, Accounting, or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution.
- Possess three to five years of professional experience in a back office, middle office, or general finance setting.
- Demonstrate mandatory proficiency in both English and Spanish.
- Be skilled in using MS Office applications, including Word, macros, Excel, and basic AI tools.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of additional languages beyond English and Spanish is viewed as a positive asset.
