Laboratory Technician

Eurofins Scientific is hiring a Junior Laboratory Technician for its Dietary Fiber department in Switzerland. The role focuses on daily sample testing, data recording, and strict adherence to quality and safety standards.

This position supports the Dietary Fiber department by conducting routine assays and testing tasks from a daily work list. The technician ensures that all laboratory activities align with established quality protocols and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Execute daily sample assays and testing tasks as outlined in the work schedule.
• Prepare chemical solutions required for routine sample analysis.
• Weigh samples and set up batches for testing procedures.
• Monitor test results to identify when rechecks are necessary.
• Record test data and outcomes accurately in logbooks, record books, or BookMaster.
• Enter data into eLIMS manually or via automatic export in a timely manner.
• Maintain precise records for quality control and regulatory compliance.
• Follow all Quality System documents, including SOPs, methods, and local policies.
• Ensure all work meets or exceeds ISO/IEC 17025 standards and government regulations.
• Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times.
• Keep the laboratory clean and organized, including cleaning glassware and disposing of hazardous waste properly.
• Report any method, matrix, or analytical difficulties to the supervisor along with proposed solutions.
• Protect proprietary methodologies by not disclosing them to non-employees without written approval.
• Stay updated on technical and industry trends as directed by the Department Leader.
• Suggest improvements for laboratory equipment or procedures to enhance accuracy or efficiency.
• Maintain cooperative relationships with colleagues across departments through clear communication.
• Uphold the company’s image by practicing ethical business standards.

Requirements

• Familiarity with Quality System documentation and procedures.
• Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 standards.
• Experience or ability to use eLIMS and BookMaster for data management.
