ETH Zurich seeks a Laboratory Technician for a one-year fixed-term role in Zürich. The position involves supporting technical experiments in cell culture, molecular biology, and histology within an academic setting.
This position provides technical support for laboratory experiments as part of an ongoing multidisciplinary project. The role is focused on specific project deliverables with a fixed one-year contract, though extension may be possible based on performance and project needs.
Responsibilities
- Cultivate primary and immortalized cells using both two-dimensional and three-dimensional models.
- Execute molecular biology techniques such as qPCR, Western Blot, optical assays, ELISA, and immunocytochemistry.
- Handle histological workflows including tissue processing, sectioning, and staining procedures.
- Participate in project meetings, review scientific literature to improve protocols, maintain standard operating procedures, and document and share assay results.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor's degree.
- Alternatively, possess a Bachelor's degree combined with at least one year of relevant experience in research or industry.
Nice to have
- A Master's degree in Biology, Physiology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, or a closely related discipline is preferred.
