Lead, Global Materials Collaboration

Forum Fribourg SA seeks a Lead for Global Materials Collaboration in Geneva. The role drives the Materials Collaboration workstream, focusing on stakeholder engagement, regional dialogue (especially APAC), and translating insights into policy and business actions.

This position oversees the ongoing delivery and evolution of the Materials Collaboration workstream within the Centre for Energy and Materials. The role is central to deepening business relationships, strengthening regional ties—particularly in Asia–Pacific—and ensuring that regional viewpoints shape global materials discussions. It emphasizes high-quality convening, stakeholder engagement, and converting insights into practical outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of the Materials Collaboration workstream, including planning, execution, and delivery.
• Convert strategic goals into a detailed annual workplan and ensure the timely production of high-quality outputs.
• Serve as the main contact point for key government and institutional partners supporting the workstream.
• Conduct targeted research with regional and global stakeholders to evaluate perspectives on international materials collaboration.
• Analyze findings to guide discussions on materials efficiency, trade, governance, and international cooperation.
• Organize and facilitate high-quality dialogue sessions at major international events.
• Author briefing papers and articles that synthesize stakeholder insights to support international dialogue and inform decision-making.
• Engage senior leaders from business, government, academia, and civil society to foster ownership and momentum around materials collaboration.
• Lead regional engagement on materials and circular economy cooperation, drawing lessons from existing frameworks.
• Design and convene regional dialogue sessions at APAC platforms, integrating global industry perspectives.
• Develop concise briefings that capture regional insights, best practices, and opportunities for collaboration, disseminating key findings globally.
• Support partner-led engagement at priority international events, leveraging the Forum’s network to include APAC and Japan perspectives in broader international discussions.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in resource economics, circular economy, economics, or equivalent, with a broad intellectual background.
• At least seven years of relevant professional experience in public, private, or civil society sectors, leading projects and initiatives across different industries.
• Ability to interact effectively with C-suite business leaders, academic experts, international organization representatives, government officials, NGOs, and grassroots organization representatives.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong analytical capabilities.

• Specific experience in circular economy and international collaboration issues.
• Experience in the environment and natural resources, technology and innovation.
• Proficiency in other languages.
