Mechanical Testing Lab Technician

Sonova seeks a Junior Mechanical Testing Lab Technician in Staefa, CH, to conduct mechanical and material tests, manage data, and support automation efforts using the LUP system.

This position is responsible for executing standardized mechanical and material testing procedures while generating and documenting reliable data. The role also involves contributing to the creation of automated testing solutions via the Labor Universal Prüfsystem (LUP) to enhance laboratory efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Carry out supervised mechanical tests and pre-verification tasks, including preparing samples, running tests, and recording outcomes.
• Produce, analyze, and archive accurate test data and related datasets.
• Help build and deploy LUP programs specifically for mechanical cyclic testing.
• Contribute to refining test configurations, standard operating instructions, and automation workflows to boost reproducibility and speed.
• Maintain precise records and strictly follow established laboratory standards and operational processes.

Requirements

• Completion of vocational training as an Automatiker EFZ or a comparable technical credential.
• Foundational experience with mechanical or technical systems.
• Basic grasp of mechanical testing concepts.
• A meticulous, dependable, and organized work style.
• A practical approach and eagerness to acquire new skills.
• Proficient written and spoken communication in English or German.
• Solid proficiency in Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office 365.
