Member of Secretariat

The Bank for International Settlements seeks a Mid-level Member of Secretariat to support the Financial Stability Board in Basel, offering a hybrid work model and competitive benefits.

This position provides essential secretariat support to the Financial Stability Board (FSB) under the guidance of the FSB Secretary General. The FSB is an international body that coordinates national financial authorities and international standard-setting bodies to promote global financial stability.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research on topics relevant to the FSB's current or future agenda.
• Draft discussion notes, reports, and background papers for the FSB and its sub-committees.
• Organize FSB-related meetings, manage agendas, and track the implementation of decisions.
• Assist the Chair and Secretary General in meeting preparation, including drafting speeches and presentation materials.
• Distribute meeting materials and oversee administrative logistics to ensure smooth proceedings.
• Facilitate consensus by clarifying issues and summarizing diverse viewpoints.
• Prepare for FSB Regional Consultative Group meetings and other outreach events.
• Handle inquiries from the press, official sector entities, and market participants.
• Maintain relationships with FSB member institutions to support coordination efforts.
• Represent the FSB Secretariat at various meetings and conferences.

Nice to have

• Deep knowledge of Nonbank Financial Intermediation (NBFI) and experience with empirical analysis on policy issues.
• Experience with the G20 Cross-Border Payments Roadmap or background in payments policy.
• Strong grasp of regulatory, supervisory, and crisis preparedness policies for financial institutions, including practical crisis management experience.
