Mold Technician

Pyrotek SA seeks a Junior Mold Technician in Switzerland to create and repair molds for specialty fireplace products using precision woodworking skills.

This position focuses on the creation and maintenance of molds used in the production of specialty fireplace items. The technician will ensure product manufacturability through precise woodworking and mold repair, supporting both internal processes and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Operate woodworking machinery safely to guarantee product quality and manufacturability.
• Assemble wooden components using table saws and various handheld tools.
• Trim parts to achieve precise fits that match mold specifications.
• Secure joints and reinforce connections as required by design.
• Sand and scrape surfaces to prepare them for final finishing.
• Repair existing molds and record repair data for reporting.
• Perform routine maintenance on molds and associated equipment.
• Assist in designing new molds and improving control processes.
• Work with team members to address customer complaints and resolve product non-conformities.
• Keep the workspace clean and adhere to safety standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent GED.
• At least one year of experience in cabinet making, precision woodworking, or mold building.
• Strong proficiency with handheld and motorized woodworking tools.
• Ability to operate table saws with precision and manual dexterity.
• Skill in reading blueprints, dimensions, and CAD designs.
• Competence in basic arithmetic, including fractions and decimals.
• Accurate interpretation of measurements and specifications.
• Basic knowledge of cast materials, adhesives, and coatings.
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and 75 pounds occasionally.
