Nolato Contour seeks a Mid-level Process Engineer to develop and troubleshoot LSR and thermoplastic injection molding processes in Switzerland.
This position focuses on the creation, execution, and optimization of scientific molding processes for both Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) and thermoplastic materials. The engineer is responsible for technical reporting on new and existing tooling, ensuring process stability and quality through rigorous evaluation and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Configure, program, and resolve issues with injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment such as robots, hot runner controllers, temperature control units, servo controllers, and pickers.
- Document process parameters strictly following the Master Process documentation procedure.
- Inspect physical part attributes, including date codes, color, revision levels, part numbers, dimensions, critical features, and Class A surface appearance.
- Investigate and resolve unacceptable reject rates by adjusting molding processes or collaborating with tool room, engineering, and maintenance teams.
- Analyze jobs to identify opportunities for cycle time reduction and other process improvements.
- Provide support for Material Review Board (MRB) and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) processes.
- Utilize IQMS ERP software for daily operational tasks and organizational alignment.
- Maintain effective internal and external customer relations through clear technical reporting.
- Lead and conduct training sessions for Process Technicians.
- Comply with all company policies, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO 14001 standards, SOPs, and work instructions.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong understanding of injection molding processing, troubleshooting, and handling molding problems in highly cosmetic thermoplastic materials and complex part geometries.
- Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of polymers, basic tool design, and the ability to apply these to various troubleshooting scenarios.
- Familiarity with inspection, testing, and precision measurement methods.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
Nice to have
- Experience in a related manufacturing industry.
- Statistical manufacturing background with experience in process capability.
- Experience in an ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and FDA certified environment.
