Lonza seeks a Manager to lead its MSAT team in Stein, Switzerland, overseeing facility ramp-up, process implementation, and regulatory compliance for sterile manufacturing.
This position involves guiding a dedicated MSAT team through a significant capital expenditure growth project, ensuring technical precision through on-site collaboration and strategic process management.
Responsibilities
- Direct and mentor a high-performing MSAT group focused on facility expansion, process execution, technology handovers, aseptic simulations, performance qualifications, and ongoing lifecycle support.
- Define and execute the technical strategy for manufacturing process qualification within the facility.
- Maintain constant inspection readiness and act as a primary liaison during regulatory audits, customer reviews, and due diligence assessments.
- Work with Operations and Engineering departments to set strategic goals, operational targets, and long-term capability plans.
- Coordinate across multiple functions and locations, including Quality, Engineering, Validation, Process and Analytical Development, Regulatory Affairs, and Global MSAT.
- Develop and refine MSAT standards, systems, and processes, covering qualification strategies, single-use technologies, process monitoring, continued verification, and lifecycle management.
- Manage complex product and process investigations, deviations, corrective and preventive actions, complaints, and troubleshooting efforts.
- Act as the technical expert for manufacturing science and technology, offering guidance and support to scientific, technical, and production teams.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in team leadership, including conducting performance reviews and managing employee effectiveness.
- High resilience and the ability to remain calm and lead effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Proven expertise in sterile fill and finish manufacturing processes.
- Ability to lead with authenticity and positivity, providing clear direction and fostering accountability within the team.
- Strong background in MSAT operations, with experience in technology transfer and process implementation.

- Scientific degree (natural sciences)
- Additional expertise in lyophilization and/or ADC (antibody-drug conjugates)
