PLC Engineer - SPS Software Expert

Körber Pharma Packaging AG seeks a Senior PLC Engineer to lead software engineering and commissioning for international sorting and conveyor projects.

The company is looking for a technical lead to oversee the software development and on-site commissioning of automation systems for global clients. In this capacity, the engineer will direct an international team, ensuring that software concepts align with customer needs and internal standards while managing project execution within defined cost and quality parameters.

Responsibilities

• Develop software concepts for custom functions and verify their implementation using internal libraries and tools.
• Provide expert guidance on software project planning and ensure adherence to established processes across international teams.
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement and expansion of the organization’s software library.
• Execute software engineering tasks within agreed schedules and budgets, assisting offer managers with cost calculations.

Requirements

• A master’s degree in automation technology, computer science, or a related discipline.
• Extensive background in software development and architecture for logistics, warehouse, or sorting systems, or industrial automation.
• Deep expertise in SIMATIC TIA, Failsafe, and WIN-CC environments.
• Proficiency with Ethernet and Profinet bus systems, including experience with failsafe applications.
• Proven track record in commissioning and prior experience leading teams on-site.
• Strong English proficiency, intercultural awareness, and collaborative skills.
• Readiness to travel internationally for project sites approximately 30% of the time.
