Swiss Re seeks an Intern for its Portfolio Monitoring & Insights team in Zürich. The role involves data analysis, client data management, and performance reporting for the Life & Health business.
This internship places candidates within the Portfolio Monitoring & Insights (PM&I) team, focusing on data-driven portfolio management for the Life & Health sector. The position supports strategic decision-making by providing performance insights and collaborating with regional and global stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Continental Europe PM&I team in executing its monitoring strategy.
- Manage the precise entry of client data into the dedicated PM&I monitoring system.
- Detect discrepancies in existing data sets and propose corrective measures for client discussions.
- Coordinate with international colleagues to deepen understanding of treaty products and data structures.
- Conduct detailed investigations to determine the factors influencing portfolio performance.
- Create data visualizations and analytical reports to communicate performance trends and potential risks.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an Actuarial Science or Mathematics program, preferably at the master's level with at least six semesters completed.
- Fundamental knowledge of different insurance business lines.
- A naturally inquisitive approach to problem-solving.
- Proven ability to work autonomously and take responsibility for assigned tasks.
- Strong analytical capabilities with a keen interest in using data and technology to influence business outcomes.
- Fluent written and spoken English skills.
Nice to have
- Practical experience with coding and data analytics platforms such as R or Power BI.
- Prior exposure to the insurance or reinsurance sector.
- Fluency in an additional European language.
