Pricing Actuary

Partnerre seeks a Pricing Actuary in Zurich to support the Casualty EMEA team. The role focuses on pricing analysis for Casualty and Motor lines and acts as a business partner to underwriters.

This position sits within the Worldwide Casualty Pricing & Analytics group, specifically supporting the Casualty EMEA Pricing team based in Zurich. The incumbent holds pricing accountability for Casualty and Motor lines across the Europe, Middle East, and Africa region. A central aspect of the job is serving as a business partner to underwriters by delivering clear profitability analysis.

Responsibilities

• Deliver clear and timely pricing for long-tailed Casualty and Motor reinsurance treaties.
• Help build and refine pricing methodologies and parameters for Casualty business throughout the EMEA region.
• Conduct market analysis and business reviews to aid in optimizing the PartnerRe portfolio.
• Assist in developing, testing, and maintaining corporate pricing tools and reporting systems.
• Join various project teams focused on model development, annual parameter studies, and ad hoc analytical requests.

Requirements

• Several years of industry experience, preferably in reinsurance pricing or large-account primary insurance pricing.
• Capacity to interpret detailed reinsurance transactions and explain complex concepts to non-actuarial stakeholders.
• Professional proficiency in English.
• Solid understanding of casualty insurance products and familiarity with the EMEA regional casualty market.
• Excellent communication abilities to interact effectively with internal and external audiences at all levels.
• Self-motivated, reliable, and collaborative, with a strong desire to work in cross-functional teams.
• A university degree in a quantitative field such as actuarial science, data science, or mathematics.
• Possession of an actuarial qualification or active pursuit of one.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of a language other than English is considered an advantage.
