Product Owner - Material Planning

Swiss AviationSoftware seeks a Product Owner for Material Planning in Allschwil. This mid-level hybrid role focuses on optimizing inventory capabilities within the AMOS MRO platform.

This position is central to advancing material planning and inventory optimization features within the company’s MRO software ecosystem. Operating within a matrix structure, the Product Owner collaborates closely with the development team and its lead to steer product direction. The core mission involves defining, prioritizing, and sustaining the product backlog to ensure alignment with broader business goals.

Responsibilities

• Establish the vision and strategic roadmap for material planning and inventory optimization modules.
• Manage the product backlog by converting business processes into actionable user stories and clear requirements.
• Partner with engineering, UX designers, and business experts to ensure the delivery of high-quality features.
• Evaluate completed features and foster continuous improvement by analyzing user feedback and product metrics.
• Engage with airlines, MRO providers, and CAMO organizations to gain insights into their operational challenges.

Requirements

• Proven experience in owning and managing a product backlog.
• Strong ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Deep expertise in material planning and inventory management.
• Comprehensive understanding of supply chain dynamics, inventory control, and material optimization workflows.
• Solid mathematical background with practical knowledge of optimization, forecasting models, and algorithms.
• Skill in translating complex technical and operational concepts into clear product specifications.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement and collaboration.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Operations Research, Mathematics, Supply Chain Analytics, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Knowledge of forecasting methods and machine learning principles.
• Familiarity with aviation regulatory standards such as EASA or FAA.
• Experience with enterprise ERP or MRO systems like SAP, IFS, or AMOS.
• Prior role as a Product Owner or Product Manager in enterprise software, preferably within supply chain.
• Experience working in Agile environments and collaborating within Scrum teams.
