Sunflower Labs seeks a Production Technician in Stallikon to assemble, test, and inspect drones and base stations for its autonomous security system.
This hands-on position sits within the production team at the Zurich-Stallikon facility. The main objective is to build, configure, and verify the functionality of drones and base stations that make up the Beehive drone-in-a-box system.
Responsibilities
- Construct mechanical and electromechanical components into subassemblies and final systems.
- Set up workstations, tools, and parts before starting tasks.
- Adhere strictly to technical drawings, assembly guides, and testing protocols.
- Examine mechanical parts and electronic components for defects.
- Verify fasteners and dimensions using basic measuring instruments.
- Operate torque tools and multimeters as directed.
- Configure and test electronic boards and modules.
- Conduct pass/fail tests and document the outcomes.
- Flag quality concerns, recurring failures, or ambiguous instructions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
- Assist in refining assembly and testing workflows.
Requirements
- Fundamental knowledge of mechanical principles.
- Understanding of screws, fasteners, dimensions, and torque specifications.
- Proficiency in using a multimeter.
- Basic electronics knowledge and safe component handling practices.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and assembly instructions.
- Familiarity with assemblies, subassemblies, parts, and consumables.
- Basic grasp of Quality Control concepts.
- Methodical, reliable, and detail-oriented work style.
- Clear communication skills for reporting issues.
- Competent computer skills for documentation and test records.
- Strong written and spoken English.
- Valid authorization to work in Switzerland.
Nice to have
- Qualification as a polymechanic EFZ, automation, electronics, or mechatronics technician.
- Prior experience in production, assembly, workshops, electronics, or technical service.
- Background with drones, RC models, robotics, or electronics projects.
- Experience with ESD-safe handling, crimping, soldering, cable assembly, or connector work.
- Basic German language skills.
