The company is expanding and seeks a Regulations and Safety Manager to oversee compliance, chemical safety, and regulatory affairs for its food contact belts portfolio and international operations.
As the organization continues to grow, this position is responsible for strengthening the company's regulatory framework and safety protocols. The role focuses on ensuring that the food contact belts portfolio meets global legislative standards while managing chemical safety, environmental compliance, and R&D initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Oversee compliance of the food contact belt portfolio with relevant legislation, including managing supplier documentation, testing, and certifications for EU, FDA, and USDA standards.
- Clarify product status and obligations regarding various international regulations.
- Define company responsibilities under REACH regulations and ensure that production and sales units remain current on these requirements.
- Provide support to sales teams when handling regulatory inquiries from customers.
- Maintain and update internal regulations databases.
- Manage chemical safety, including serving as the hazardous substances contact, maintaining substance inventories via SAP-EHS, liaising with authorities, reviewing and creating Safety Data Sheets, and conducting employee training.
- Monitor environmental regulations, including emissions and VOC balances.
- Act as the contact person for dangerous goods and organize related training.
- Manage select chemistry-related research and development projects.
Requirements
- A PhD, Engineering, or Master's degree (or Bachelor of Science) in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
- Professional experience gained within an international setting.
- Fluency in German and a strong command of English.
- Strong communication abilities and cross-cultural sensitivity.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to business needs.
- A methodical work approach with a high degree of attention to detail.

- Prior experience in project management.
