Sales Account Manager - Precision Optics

Bühlergroup seeks a Senior Sales Account Manager in Cary, CH, to drive growth in North America by selling precision optics and vacuum coating solutions while managing key client relationships.

This position is dedicated to expanding the company's presence in the USA and Canada by connecting clients with advanced precision optics and optoelectronic vacuum coating technologies. The role emphasizes cultivating long-term partnerships and ensuring a superior customer journey through technical expertise and strategic account management.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with prospective clients to determine precise system requirements and suggest appropriate hardware, processes, and technologies.
  • Create and send accurate price quotes to customers.
  • Discover emerging applications and new technology sectors for Leybold Optics offerings.
  • Acquire and grow new business accounts across the North American region.
  • Maintain and nurture relationships with existing North American clients.
  • Partner with project management teams to establish machine layouts, technical specs, and installation plans.
  • Liaise with service, support, and finance departments to address and resolve client issues.
  • Formulate and execute marketing strategies that align with the annual budget.
  • Plan and assist in organizing industry trade shows, exhibitions, and technical symposiums.
  • Contribute to marketing campaigns by authoring articles, advertorials, and press releases.
  • Participate in external technology seminars and professional organizations.
  • Join internal sales meetings, product launches, and other sales-related events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in physics or a closely related discipline.
  • Six to eight years of experience in optical or optoelectronics vacuum coatings, or similar technologies.
  • Proven track record in sales, ideally within capital equipment sectors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent abilities in building customer relationships, sales, and negotiation.
  • Solid technical understanding of the products being sold.
  • Capacity to work autonomously and make independent decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Strict adherence to confidentiality regarding organizational and employee data.
  • Proactive team player with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to evaluate issues and provide direction.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for approximately 50% of the time.

Nice to have

  • Proficiency in German or Spanish.
