Senior Backend Developer role in Zürich, Switzerland, focusing on e-commerce systems using C#/.NET. This role sits at the heart of the product and platform ecosystem, carrying end-to-end responsibility for critical e-commerce backend systems. The position focuses on ensuring system stability, performance, and scalability, while working with cross-functional teams to solve complex technical challenges and shape technical decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of and continuously improve e-commerce backend systems with a focus on performance and reliability
  • Optimize SQL queries and manage data-intensive workloads to maintain high system performance
  • Evolve database structures within a live, business-critical environment
  • Contribute to software architecture and system evolution to reduce technical debt and complexity
  • Gradually modernize legacy systems in a way that avoids disrupting business operations
  • Use Git (via GitLab or GitHub) and support modern CI/CD pipelines
  • Collaborate with product, development, and business teams to identify real issues and deliver effective technical solutions
