Senior Business Analyst - Financial Instruments Data

The company seeks a Senior Business Analyst to lead financial instruments data sourcing within its Banking Operations division in Zürich. The role focuses on master data governance, client requirements, and system integration.

As a key functional lead within the Asset Data Sourcing team, this position supports the back-office operations that serve over 30 banks worldwide. The role involves managing the global Financial Instruments Master Data Service, ensuring accurate data integration, mapping, and distribution while providing strategic leadership for the team.

Responsibilities

• Manage and organize daily operations for the Asset Data Sourcing service.
• Provide senior-level support for complex data, client, or vendor escalations, including planning and prioritization tasks.
• Plan and execute data migration projects covering assets, issuers, and pricing information.
• Create and maintain business rules, mappings, and technical specifications for system releases.
• Gather client requirements, write functional specifications, conduct testing, and oversee release processes.
• Partner with internal departments such as IT, Product, and regional teams to deliver tailored master data solutions.
• Liaise with external data providers like SIX Financial Information and Bloomberg, advising internal teams on feed topics and content.

Requirements

• A recognized IT or business degree alongside substantial experience in banking or financial services.
• At least three years of experience as a Business Analyst specializing in reference and market data management.
• Proven expertise in financial instruments, master data, data delivery, data modeling, and target-system mapping.
• Deep understanding of SIX Financial Information data feeds, specifically VDF/VDFS management.
• Mandatory hands-on experience with the Temenos DataSource (TDS) Enterprise Data Management system.
• Proficiency in SQL, with PL/SQL scripting skills required.
• Fluency in both German and English.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with the TDS rule engine, including configuration, customization, and data modeling.
• Prior experience working with the Avaloq Core Banking System.
• Additional language skills in Italian or French.
