Senior Business Analyst - Financial Instruments Data

Avaloq seeks a Senior Business Analyst to lead financial instruments data sourcing within its Banking Operations division in Zurich. The role combines functional leadership with hands-on data modeling and stakeholder management.

This position serves as a functional lead within the Asset Data Sourcing team of Avaloq’s Banking Operations division. The incumbent takes ownership of data sourcing activities for the global Financial Instruments Master Data Service (Asset Hub) and supports the operational and strategic leadership of the team.

Responsibilities

• Manage and organize the daily operations of the Asset Data Sourcing service.
• Act as a senior escalation point for complex data, client, or vendor issues while assisting team leadership with planning and prioritization.
• Plan and execute data migration projects covering assets, issuers, pricing, and related information.
• Design, maintain, and update complex business rules, mappings, and specifications to ensure successful software releases.
• Work directly with clients to capture requirements, create functional specifications, conduct testing, and manage releases.
• Collaborate with internal teams across Banking Operations, IT, Product, and regional units to deliver client-specific solutions for Master Data Services.
• Coordinate with external data providers such as SIX Financial Information and Bloomberg, and advise internal consumers on feed topics and content.

Requirements

• A recognized IT or business qualification alongside a strong background in banking or financial services.
• At least three years of experience as a Business Analyst in reference and market data management, preferably within a bank's Asset Hub.
• Hands-on expertise in financial instruments, master data, data delivery, data modeling, and target-system mapping.
• Deep knowledge of SIX Financial Information data feeds, specifically VDF/VDFS management of financial data content and delivery.
• Mandatory solid experience with the Enterprise Data Management system Temenos DataSource (TDS).
• Practical skills in SQL, with PL/SQL scripting being a requirement.
• Fluency in both German and English.

Nice to have

• Experience with the TDS rule engine, including configuration, customization, and data modeling.
• Familiarity with the Avaloq Core Banking System.
• Proficiency in Italian or French.
