Senior Buyer

HUBER+SUHNER seeks a Senior Buyer in Fribourg to manage material supply, ensure production continuity, and drive purchasing efficiency through strong supplier relationships and data accuracy.

This position focuses on securing the timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and components to align with production schedules and inventory targets. The incumbent oversees daily purchasing operations, handles supplier confirmations, and addresses material shortages or delivery risks. As a senior team member, the role involves leading process improvements, mentoring colleagues, and serving as the primary contact for resolving supplier performance and availability issues.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the supply of materials and components to meet production needs.
• Oversee purchase orders, supplier schedules, and stock availability.
• Build and maintain strong supplier partnerships while resolving delivery or quality concerns.
• Track inventory levels and ensure data integrity within ERP and MRP systems.
• Detect and reduce supply chain risks to keep production running smoothly.
• Work closely with Production, Planning, and Engineering teams to solve material-related problems.
• Generate reports and analyze performance metrics for suppliers, inventory, and purchasing.
• Lead continuous improvement projects to boost efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service levels.
• Provide guidance and support to other members of the Supply Chain team.

Requirements

• Experience in purchasing and procurement.
