Senior Buyer

CTC Resourcing Solutions AG seeks a Senior Buyer for a 6-month on-site contract in Basel, supporting a global API leader with strategic sourcing and procurement optimization.

This position is a six-month contract role located in Basel, Switzerland, within a global market leader in active pharmaceutical ingredients. The incumbent will work closely with Global Category Managers to enhance procurement processes, drive innovation, and deliver continuous improvement across the site.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Global Category Managers to create and execute sourcing strategies that address specific site requirements.
• Manage the execution of sourcing projects for assigned spend categories.
• Apply expertise in tendering, negotiation, contracting, and procurement software to support business goals.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities, build pipelines, and achieve financial reductions.
• Assist in deploying procurement policies, procedures, and tools to improve compliance and operational efficiency.
• Engage with internal stakeholders to align procurement activities with broader business objectives.
• Ensure the continuous availability of materials to support ongoing operations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with external suppliers.
• Perform supply risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities.
• Develop and implement mitigation strategies for identified business risks.
• Support the implementation of procurement systems and tools, including SAP, Ariba, and E-Auctions.

Requirements

• Valid Swiss or EU citizenship, or an appropriate working/residency permit.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of five years of experience in strategic procurement, particularly in tendering, negotiation, and contract management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, combined with a customer-focused approach.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in SAP, Ariba, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with third-party spend management and e-procurement systems.
• Solid knowledge of category management, supplier management, and contract management principles.

Nice to have

• Einkaufsfachfrau / Einkaufsfachmann certification or CIPS certification is considered an advantage.
