Senior Compliance Officer

IMC seeks a Senior Compliance Officer in Zug to lead its Crypto compliance function, building frameworks from scratch and advising on regulatory matters for its digital asset business.

This position sits at the core of IMC's expanding digital asset operations. The company needs a compliance expert who can merge deep regulatory knowledge with commercial awareness to guide its Crypto division. The role also includes leadership responsibilities for a small team, including a Crypto Compliance Officer.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage the complete compliance structure for the Crypto division, covering trade surveillance, market conduct, and licensing.
• Draft and update policies, procedures, and controls tailored to digital assets, ensuring they meet CIMA standards.
• Set up governance models, including escalation paths, board reporting, and risk appetite definitions.
• Oversee audit remediation efforts, tracking issues to completion and updating senior stakeholders.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to the Crypto business, providing input on new products and strategic initiatives from the start.
• Deliver practical, commercially aware guidance on regulatory and market conduct issues, balancing risk control with business growth.

Requirements

• At least seven years of compliance experience in financial services, including two years in a senior position focused on digital assets, crypto, or fintech.
• Demonstrated success in establishing compliance frameworks within regulated financial institutions.
• Solid grasp of crypto-specific compliance issues, such as blockchain analytics, travel rule implementation, AML transaction monitoring, and cross-border regulations.
• Experience interacting directly with financial regulators and managing regulatory examinations.
• Fluency in English with clear and concise communication skills.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with US and/or APAC regulatory environments is highly valued.
• ACAMS certification or equivalent professional qualification is preferred.
