Senior Scientist, Mechanistic Pharmacology

CSL Behring Vifor seeks a Senior Scientist in Mechanistic Pharmacology to lead translational research using advanced in vitro models for cardiovascular and renal therapies within the EMEA region.

This position sits within the Translational Research division, where the primary focus is the creation and application of sophisticated in vitro models to address complex challenges in cardiovascular and renal medicine. The role exists to drive scientific innovation and provide expert guidance on model selection and execution to support broader project goals.

Responsibilities

• Create, refine, and utilize advanced cellular and complex in vitro models that hold translational value for heart and kidney diseases.
• Lead scientific efforts in choosing, building, and deploying cellular model systems to advance translational project aims.
• Plan and carry out functional assays to produce high-quality data for target validation, mechanistic investigations, and therapeutic candidate characterization.
• Collaborate with internal project teams by clearly communicating data, insights, and recommendations to colleagues and stakeholders.
• Manage external collaborations and outsourcing activities as required, ensuring scientific rigor and alignment with project objectives.

Requirements

• A postgraduate degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacology, Cell Biology, or a closely related scientific field.
• Minimum of three years of relevant experience in industry or a comparable academic research setting, specifically focused on cardiovascular or kidney biology.
• Deep expertise in complex cellular model systems, including iPSC, co-culture, organoids, and/or organ-on-a-chip technologies, along with experience in developing translationally relevant in vitro assays.

• A PhD degree is preferred.
