Senior Software Engineer 80-100%

TWINT AG seeks a Senior Software Engineer to lead feature development and system architecture in Zurich or Bern. This hybrid role requires extensive Java expertise and a focus on scalable, reliable solutions.

This position sits within the Value Stream Commercial Partners team, contributing to the broader TWint ecosystem. The engineer will operate from either Zurich or Bern, with the flexibility to work remotely, driving technical ownership from initial development through to operational stability.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full lifecycle of new feature implementations, ensuring smooth transitions from coding to testing and live operations.
• Diagnose complex technical issues and coordinate incident resolution with internal departments and external partners.
• Convert business requirements into durable, scalable technical architectures.
• Uphold high standards for code quality by actively participating in peer code reviews.
• Influence architectural choices to enhance product reliability, performance, and scalability.
• Improve system observability and performance metrics through effective monitoring strategies.
• Collaborate with team members during sprint cycles to drive continuous process improvements.
• Evolve the existing technology stack to support long-term business goals and technical excellence.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Over ten years of hands-on software engineering experience in complex business environments.
• Deep proficiency in Java, Java EE, Wildfly, and Spring Boot frameworks.
• Solid working knowledge of SQL, JPA/Hibernate, Gradle, and Git version control.
• Proven expertise in building RESTful APIs and conducting rigorous testing with JUnit, Mockito, and Testcontainers.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and DevSecOps principles.
• Fluent command of the English language for professional communication.

Nice to have

• Experience with modern design patterns such as hexagonal architecture, alongside technologies like Kafka, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Additional proficiency in the German language.
