Senior Software Engineer (EAA)

Coinbase seeks a Senior Software Engineer for its EAA Compliance CXAE team to build AI-driven full-stack tools that streamline compliance processes and boost agent productivity.

This position sits within the Enterprise Applications and Architecture organization, specifically supporting the EAA Compliance CXAE team. The primary objective is to develop AI-first interfaces and utilities that simplify compliance workflows, allowing Compliance Agents to automate tasks and achieve significant operational impact.

Responsibilities

• Develop complete user-facing features utilizing Golang, React, and cloud infrastructure to create AI-centric compliance solutions.
• Evaluate, select, and integrate third-party vendor tools into the compliance agent platform.
• Collaborate with product, design, security, data, and engineering peers to deliver complex technical solutions.
• Design platform enhancements that establish reusable capabilities and improve upon current development standards.
• Ensure the reliability of Tier-1 compliance systems by proactively identifying and mitigating risks before production deployment.
• Guide other engineers in full-stack design, coding standards, testing, deployment, documentation, and observability practices.

Requirements

• Over five years of experience engineering large-scale systems using Golang and React.
• Strong background in assessing, implementing, and managing third-party vendor integrations.
• Hands-on expertise in operating high-traffic platforms, including the use of rate limiters, caching, load balancing, circuit breakers, and distributed debugging techniques.
• Proficiency in event-driven architectures (Kafka, MQ), SQL/NoSQL databases, and service communication patterns like gRPC, GraphQL, and ETL.
• Ability to work effectively across distributed teams and time zones, translating complex technical ideas into clear communication.
• Responsible use of generative AI with appropriate human oversight to ensure business-ready outputs.
