Senior Software Engineer, Sensor Fusion and Perception Systems

Google seeks a Senior Software Engineer in Zürich to lead sensor fusion and perception systems for next-generation AR devices, focusing on spatial computing and visual-inertial integration.

This position focuses on advancing spatial computing to create immersive Augmented Reality experiences. The engineer will operate at the intersection of research and product development, delivering performance optimizations for the XR world-sensing stack while driving innovation from concept to implementation.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional brainstorming and engineering efforts for future AR hardware.
• Develop core visual-inertial fusion algorithms for odometry, localization, mapping, calibration, and head-tracking.
• Conduct device qualification and precision calibration processes.
• Implement and refine image processing techniques.
• Engineer visual-inertial sensor fusion solutions.
• Analyze IMU-based motion data to enhance motion understanding.
• Execute comprehensive end-to-end system verification.
