NVIDIA seeks a Senior Solutions Architect to lead Physical AI and Robotics initiatives within its Zurich AI Technology Centre, bridging academic research and corporate innovation.

This position sits within the AI Technology Centre in Zurich, Switzerland, focusing on high-impact research in robotics and physical AI. The role is designed for scientists capable of defining strategic capabilities and partnering with leading European research groups. The incumbent will act as a liaison between academic institutions and NVIDIA’s internal product and engineering teams, fostering collaboration on groundbreaking scientific challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on significant research projects with university principal investigators and their laboratory teams.
  • Discover and assess new, high-value research opportunities within the fields of robotics and physical AI.
  • Promote the use of NVIDIA software platforms, including Isaac Sim/Lab, Cosmos, GR00T, Warp, and Newton, to address complex scientific problems.
  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with top Swiss universities and research consortia.
  • Support academic partners in obtaining external research funding.
  • Serve as the primary connection between university collaborators and NVIDIA’s product, program, and engineering divisions.
  • Convey software and hardware needs to ensure solutions support world-class research outcomes.
  • Provide strategic insights on emerging trends and breakthroughs from the research ecosystem.
  • Organize and execute outreach events such as NVIDIA AI Days and Robotics Days.
  • Assist university principal investigators in mentoring postgraduate students.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science, with specializations in Computer Vision, AI, or HCI.
  • Published research in Physical AI, Robotics, or AI topics.
  • Prior experience working within academic research environments.
  • Deep expertise in Physical AI and Robotics, covering areas like robot learning, manipulation, locomotion, perception, sim-to-real transfer, world models, or autonomous systems.
  • Familiarity with scientific policy engagement, grant processes, or national/European research program structures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team and adapt to new technologies quickly.
  • At least five years of hands-on experience in AI research for robotics.

Nice to have

  • Postdoctoral or faculty experience, ideally within ten years of obtaining a Ph.D.
  • Recognition in the research community through awards, named fellowships, or grants in robotics.
  • Experience in technology transfer, such as advancing research prototypes toward product integration or platform deployment.
  • Prior experience building and implementing projects using NVIDIA software platforms.
