Senior Software Engineer

Viboo seeks a Senior Software Engineer in Zurich to design cloud architectures and build AI-driven building management systems. The role combines backend development with MLOps in a hybrid, impact-driven environment.

This position sits within an ETH spin-off dedicated to lowering the environmental footprint of buildings through artificial intelligence. Reporting directly to the CTO, the engineer will help shape the technical direction of the product while contributing to a mission-driven DeepTech startup.

Responsibilities

• Architecting cloud-based solutions and coding specific software modules.
• Overseeing and enhancing the CI/CD/CT pipelines for both DevOps and MLOps workflows.
• Participating actively in the broader product development lifecycle.
• Troubleshooting system issues and tuning platform performance during on-call rotations.
• Reviewing code generated by AI tools as well as contributions from fellow developers.

Requirements

• At least five years of professional background in backend API development and software architecture.
• Advanced proficiency in Python programming.
• Demonstrated track record of working with major public cloud platforms.
• Extensive knowledge of PostgreSQL and TimescaleDB databases.
• Strong capability in handling and processing time-series data.
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps methodologies.
• Practical experience developing applications using AI agents, assistants, and the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
• Fluent English communication abilities at a C1 level or higher.

Nice to have

• Prior experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Familiarity with MLOps tools, specifically Kubeflow and Prometheus.
