Amazon Switzerland seeks a Software Development Engineer II for the Sales Abuse Prevention team to build scalable, high-throughput systems that protect buyers and partners from fraud.
This position sits within the Sales Abuse Prevention (SAP) group, whose mission is to ensure Amazon remains a secure and trustworthy marketplace for customers, brands, and selling partners. The engineering team develops and sustains abuse detection mechanisms that handle more than one billion transactions each day with low latency. The role requires working alongside diverse teams to design, construct, and launch innovative solutions that enhance platform integrity.
Responsibilities
- Create globally distributed architectures focused on scalability and reliability.
- Develop fault-tolerant designs that ensure high availability across multiple regions while managing complex state.
- Oversee and maintain continuous integration and deployment pipelines for large-scale distributed environments.
Requirements
- At least three years of professional software development experience, excluding internships.
- Minimum two years of experience in system design or architecture, specifically regarding design patterns, reliability, and scaling for new or existing systems.
- Three or more years of experience in the video games industry, including title development, release, or live operations.
- Proficiency in programming with at least one software language.
Nice to have
- Three plus years of experience across the full software development life cycle, covering coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
- A Bachelor's degree in computer science or an equivalent qualification.
