AB InBev seeks a Mid-level Support Engineer for a remote role in Switzerland to drive digital transformation within the Growth Group by ensuring system reliability and automating processes.
This position sits within the Growth Group, a unified team combining B2B, DTC, Sales & Distribution, and Marketing functions. The group aims to scale growth opportunities by leveraging new technology and deeply understanding customer needs. The engineer will play a key role in this digital transformation effort.
Responsibilities
- Partner with cross-functional teams to design, deploy, and monitor both new and legacy services.
- Develop and refine change management and release workflows.
- Automate existing processes to enhance efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Implement robust observability and logging strategies, including proactive monitoring, alerting, and anomaly detection.
- Resolve production issues while project teams are occupied, using scripts, automation, and infrastructure scaling.
- Escalate to third-party vendors when necessary to resolve external dependencies.
- Maintain and improve operational runbooks.
- Conduct root cause analyses with teams to prevent future incidents.
- Work with infrastructure and security groups to build scalable, secure, and resilient systems.
- Apply Support Engineering practices, such as defining Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and error budgets.
- Align processes with the Operations team to ensure smooth coordination.
- Participate in capacity planning and access management procedures.
Requirements
- A university degree in a computing-related field, such as Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Systems Analysis and Development.
- Strong foundation in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and problem-solving techniques.
- Practical experience with CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps and ArgoCD.
- Familiarity with SRE and Support Engineering methodologies and culture.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Azure, RabbitMQ, AWS, Java, and Python.
- Proficiency in monitoring platforms such as New Relic, DataDog, and Grafana.
- Advanced English communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Experience working within Agile project environments.
