Speechify seeks a Senior Software Engineer to build data infrastructure for AI model training. This fully remote role focuses on ingestion pipelines, cloud operations, and strategic data acquisition in Lausanne, Switzerland.
This position sits within the Data division of Speechify’s AI team. The primary objective is to manage the entire lifecycle of data collection required for training machine learning models. The engineer will ensure that high-quality audio data is sourced, ingested, and processed efficiently to support the company’s AI operations.
Responsibilities
- Identify and integrate new audio data sources into the existing ingestion pipeline.
- Maintain and expand the cloud-based infrastructure for data ingestion, utilizing GCP and Terraform.
- Work with data scientists to optimize the balance between cost, throughput, and data quality, aiming for larger scale and lower expenses.
- Partner with AI leadership to define and execute the strategic roadmap for dataset development.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline.
- At least five years of professional software development experience.
- Strong scripting skills in bash and Python within Linux environments.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code principles, including professional work with major cloud providers like GCP.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly to changing project needs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
