Google’s Core team in Zürich seeks a mid-level Software Engineer to build abuse detection systems for its GenAI Safety Platform, focusing on full-stack development and data analysis.
This position is part of the Core team, which establishes the technical foundation for Google’s primary products and influences key technical decisions across the organization. The role focuses on creating robust systems to identify and mitigate abusive behavior within the GenAI Safety Platform.
Responsibilities
- Build, verify, and upkeep modules for account-centric abuse detection within the GenAI Safety Platform.
- Design and improve classification models and rule sets to spot policy violations and harmful conduct.
- Produce production-grade code, engage in peer code reviews, and apply feedback to enhance quality.
- Work alongside other engineers to connect detection systems with enforcement workflows.
- Examine data to uncover abuse trends and improve the overall effectiveness of detection strategies.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree or possess equivalent practical experience.
- Have at least one year of software development experience using one or more programming languages.
- Demonstrate one year of full-stack development experience, covering both back-end and front-end tasks.
- Show proficiency in data structures and algorithms.
Nice to have
- Experience using data processing tools such as SQL.
- Understanding of machine learning principles.
- Knowledge of AI-driven development practices.
- Capacity to learn and contribute to large-scale system construction.
- Interest in anti-abuse systems, fraud detection, or security.
